Arielle
My name Arielle means lioness of God. I never expected to be calling myself a belly dancer today but this experience has truly helped me break out of my shell and be myself no matter what. So my name has become truly significant to how belly dance has helped me grow. I have been dancing since I was little. What started as just a dance lesson grew into something I can not imagine being without. Over the years I have been involved in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and most recently belly dancing. I started belly dance classes at MGM studio under Ziva’s instruction and two years later I was able to join the troupe. As the youngest in the troupe I have definitely learned a lot and hope to learn all that I can. Belly dance has opened my eyes to an amazing culture, one which I did not know much about before. It is such a welcoming dance form because anyone can truly partake in it. I love performing and sharing the joy that I have learned with others. Every time I am on stage I always have the biggest smile on my face, it’s just something I cannot describe, the feeling that it gives me. I always like showing people how I can flip a coin on my stomach or shimmy with a basket on my head. Because of this troupe I have had so many new experiences and I know there will be more to come. As I move onto college I hope to continue Middle Eastern dance as well as dancing with Troupe Anwar.
